Editor's intro

Product design is UI/UX with a wider lens: deciding what should be built at all, not just how the screens look. Product designers spend as much time on problem framing, customer conversations, and trade-offs with engineering as they do in Figma. This feed gathers resources on that whole loop — discovering a real problem, testing solutions cheaply, and shipping something that works.

If you're coming from visual or UX design, the discovery and scoping picks will stretch you most. If you're coming from product management or engineering, spend time in the UI/UX feed as well. The common thread is humility: most ideas fail when they meet real users, and good product designers find that out early and cheaply.

Design Thinking (IDEO)

IDEO Articles Free

IDEO's design thinking resources are a free, compact introduction to the process that shaped a generation of product teams: empathize with people, define the problem, generate ideas, prototype quickly, and test. Design thinking has been over-hyped and sometimes turned into sticky-note theater, but its core habit — understanding the problem before committing to a solution — is exactly what product design requires. Read it for the mindset, then use the practical picks in this feed to put it to work.
